As an addendum to yesterday’s post, here are two excellent recordings of The Pipettes performing live. The first comes from the 2007 South By South West festival in Austin, Texas; two excellent reviews of the concert—with great pictures!—can be found here and here. The concert includes two non-album tracks, “Guess Who Ran Off With The Milkman?” and “True Love Waits Patiently For A Miracle”.

Second, closer to home, is an earlier performance given at the Leeds Cockpit in February 2005. It’s a rare chance to hear the original line-up of Rosay, RiotBecki and the original founding member of the group, Julia, who by turns called herself Julia Caesar or The Duchess of Darkness. Julia left a couple of months after this concert (forming The Indelicates), to be replaced by Gwenno. It’s also an opportunity to hear their rare early single “I Like a Boy in Uniform (School Uniform)”.
