I believe the Queen would have wanted for the Last Night to go ahead. She cared and loved her subjects and would have been dismayed at the unhappiness that the cancellation caused..
i’m inclined to agree, David. It’s rather baffling that the BBC didn’t seek to make the Last Night into a celebration / send-off. But then, the BBC’s decisions about what to do with the Proms are often baffling.
